Absaroka 4P Tent

Regular price $410.00 $0.00 Unit price per

The Absaroka 4P is a lightweight, spacious, 4 person tent designed for backcountry adventure. Built with dual doors, a removeable stove jack, and a tall pitch height to optimize wind sheer and snow shedding, the Absaroka is built for 4 season use and features sewn-in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching. Designed to be a spacious 4 person tent for riding out storms or 2 person mansion with a stove, the Absaroka strikes a balance between space, weight and size ideal for mountain hunting.

The Absaroka is built to be pitched with an optional single center pole (sold separately) or two trekking poles connected together, and is constructed with our nano-ripstop polyester fabric that won't sag when wet, maintaining the usable space inside the tent. The Absaroka is sewn with a silicone coated thread and double lap-felled seams, making it highly water resistant out of the box.

The Absaroka 4P also comes with our ARC Removable Stove Jack System, designed to be run in lightweight mode or stove mode when you want a hot tent. With our zippered stove jack design, the removable stove jack allows you to keep tent weight and bulk to a minimum during warmer months if you aren't using a stove, while allowing stove use during the colder months, all with a single tent.

The Absaroka 4P is ideal for four people and normal amounts of gear, or 2 people with a stove and lots of gear. The Absaroka can be used as a floorless shelter or with the Absaroka 4P Insert with a bathtub floor/mesh insert for full double wall coverage (sold separately). A carbon fiber center pole can also be used to pitch the tent (sold separately).  And if you want to make a hot tent, pair with our Skyline Ti Titanium Wood Stove.

The Absaroka 4P needs to be seam sealed to be fully waterproof. We include seam sealer with every tent, and for more information on how to seam seal your tent, check out our seam sealing instruction page, or we can seam seal your tent for you for a small fee (select Add Seam Sealing).

Please allow an additional 5-7 business days for your order to ship if you elected to have us seam seal your tent.

Features

  • Lightweight-2.1 lbs. (34 oz) shelter weight
  • ARC Removable Stove Jack System-Easily zip in or zip out your stove jack to run your tent in stove jack or lightweight mode to save weight and bulk.

  • Interior Gear Hanging Loops-4 sewn in fabric loops near the top of the tent make hanging wet gear or a tent light easy. Can also run paracord through these loops to make a clothesline for drying out gear.

  • Versatile Pitching-The modified rectangular shape and line-loc adjusters allow the tent to be pitched against the ground to keep out drafts, or elevated for better air flow.
  • Storm Worthy Protection-Steep wall angles and reinforced guy-out points create superior high wind performance and allows for snow shedding.

4P is a castle

We enjoyed the 4P with an Argali stove , two cots, all our backpacking gear and still had room to stand and stretch.
Easy and fast to pitch . I'm done with having to lay on the ground or do a hunker squat to get dressed in small tents.

This 4P has standing stretching room and weighs less than most 2 man tents that a person can't stand up in.
The bright colored Crocks don't come with the tent but sure feel good after hunting steep brush in northern Idaho.
Amazing quality products , quality service, made for serious outdoorsmen by people who walk the walk.

Nice tent!

Bought the absaroka, the full insert and got seams sealed from factory, and used it a few times now. With the guy outs its good in the wind. But with the guy outs the vent doesnt work well and could let water in if pulled too tight , So far its been good no rain or snow yet but that will come later in the hunting season. I do have a gripe with the carbon pole kinda annoyed its more than 1 piece but i guess its sturdier assembled that way, but for a $90 carbon pole i was expecting more idk minimum broken down would like it to take up a little less space.

A Great Tent With a Few Flaws

I've spent two weeks in the tent before writing this review. Here are my findings.

Good: Compresses small and is very light for a four person tent. The carbon fiber pole has held up well to the extreme heat and thermal cycling when is is next to my Peax stove. The material is strong and sheds rain well.

Bad: I did tear the stove jack with the leading edge of my stove pipe during a hard and sustained windstorm. The leading edge of the stove pipe became nestled within one of the slits on the stove jack and throughout the day it tore the material. I did have to guy out all of the points on the tent to alleviate the issue. I'm sure this could have been avoided if I guyed the walls out before hand, but lessons were learned. Argali did warranty the stove jack which was awesome, so kuddos to the customer service and just know if shit happens in the backcountry, they will have your back and make it right. The second issue is with the vent; if you pitch it too tall or guy our the walls too tight, it collapses the semi ridged arm that keep the vent open and exposes the mesh netting to the elements. I do wish they would redesign this part to allow for great adjustability to have a functional hooded vent at different pitch heights.

Hey Christian, thank you for taking the time to leave an honest review. We are only here because of the customers and we base our customer service off of that principal. With your comments on the vent we will take that into the design room. We appreciate feedback like this because it allows us to make our product better. Hope you have many more nights planned in the tent.
