The Absaroka 4P is a lightweight, spacious, 4 person tent designed for backcountry hunting. Built with dual doors, a removeable stove jack, and a tall pitch height to optimize wind sheer and snow shedding, the Absaroka is built for 4 season use and features sewn-in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching. Designed to be a spacious 4 person tent for riding out storms or 2 person mansion with a stove, the Absaroka strikes a balance between space, weight and size ideal for mountain hunting.

The Absaroka is built to be pitched with an optional single center pole (sold separately) or two trekking poles connected together, and is constructed with our ripstop polyester fabric that won't sag when wet, maintaining the usable space inside the tent. The Absaroka is sewn with a silicone coated thread and double lap-felled seams, making it highly water resistant out of the box.

The Absaroka 4P also comes with our ARC Removable Stove Jack System, designed to be run in lightweight mode or stove mode when you want a hot tent. With our zippered stove jack design, the removable stove jack allows you to keep tent weight and bulk to a minimum during warmer months if you aren't using a stove, while allowing stove use during the colder months, all with a single tent. Gone are the days of having to pack around a dedicated stove jack when you aren't using it.

The Absaroka 4P is ideal for four people and normal amounts of gear, or 2 people with a stove and lots of gear. The Absaroka can be used as a floorless shelter or with the Absaroka 4P Insert with a bathtub floor/mesh insert for full double wall coverage (sold separately). A carbon fiber center pole can also be used to pitch the tent (sold separately).  And if you want to make a hot tent, pair with our Skyline Ti Titanium Wood Stove.

The Absaroka 4P needs to be seam sealed to be fully waterproof. We include seam sealer with every tent, and for more information on how to seam seal your tent, check out our seam sealing instruction page, or we can seam seal your tent for you for a small fee (select Add Seam Sealing).

*If you select to have us seam seal your tent, expect 5-7 day delay in shipment

Excited to put it to use

So far I have only set this up at home to seam seal it. The quality of the tent seems very high. The stakes might need an upgrade but will certainly work for now. There’s tons of space for probably 3 guys and gear.

Warranty tent - multiple encouraging things

I originally bought the Gen 1 version of this tent several years ago. Used it some over that time, probably 12 nights total. This spring I had a zipper-stop fail on the door and the zipper came off while I was pretty deep in the backcountry with some pretty unpleasant weather. Was able to limp the tent through the trip without much issue. Got back and Argali warrantied the tent and sent me a new Gen 2 version free of charge. This Gen 2 version has a different set up for the zipper-stops that appears to be much more robust than the Gen 1. As for the overall function of the tent: I am very impressed with the storm-worthiness of the tent and I like the space/size for a "2-man + all gear inside" set-up. Two guys, both 6'-2", fit perfectly fine. The Piton stakes it comes with are garbage (put almost every tent maker gives you garbage stakes, so its a push); I use Easton 8.75" aluminum nails - they're great. Big fan of Argali overall and plan to use more of their gear in the future.

Great Tent! Huge inside! Got tear on 1st night

Purchased the tent to bring my niece up to a Lookout at 6700ft. Hard to find a place to set the tent with that big of a foot print. (But having that much space in a tent is a luxury for sure for being so lightweight ). We only had two locations to choose from. All night we had winds at a constant 20mph with gusts I'm sure over 45mph or more. Thought for sure the tent would collapse, but it held up. Only issue is that tent tore right where it rubbed on a rock at night in the wind. We couldn't find a place to set the tent that didn't have rocks. And it did stand up to very strong winds. Just too bad to see the rip in the morning. A trade-off for having such a lightweight fabric.

Hey Travis,

Sorry to hear you got a rip in the tent, I would love to get you patch for the rip if it small enough to patch that way otherwise we do offer tent repair. The Silpoly Fabric is great for shedding the wind and moisture but like all ultralight tents doesn't do well with sticks and stones. Sounds like the experience overall was great! Let me know if you want to look into a repair for that tear. Here is my email: [email protected].

Thanks!

Light and compact!

This tent is perfect for any backcountry adventure. Quality is not lost for such a light weight tent. We ran this on our recent bear hunt and it outlasted the elements perfectly. Highly recommend for your next back country adventure.
