Absaroka 4P Tent

Regular price $410.00 $0.00 Unit price per

The Absaroka 4P is a lightweight, spacious, 4 person tent designed for backcountry adventure. Built with dual doors, a removeable stove jack, and a tall pitch height to optimize wind sheer and snow shedding, the Absaroka is built for 4 season use and features sewn-in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching. Designed to be a spacious 4 person tent for riding out storms or 2 person mansion with a stove, the Absaroka strikes a balance between space, weight and size ideal for mountain hunting.

The Absaroka is built to be pitched with an optional single center pole (sold separately) or two trekking poles connected together, and is constructed with our nano-ripstop polyester fabric that won't sag when wet, maintaining the usable space inside the tent. The Absaroka is sewn with a silicone coated thread and double lap-felled seams, making it highly water resistant out of the box.

The Absaroka 4P also comes with our ARC Removable Stove Jack System, designed to be run in lightweight mode or stove mode when you want a hot tent. With our zippered stove jack design, the removable stove jack allows you to keep tent weight and bulk to a minimum during warmer months if you aren't using a stove, while allowing stove use during the colder months, all with a single tent.

The Absaroka 4P is ideal for four people and normal amounts of gear, or 2 people with a stove and lots of gear. The Absaroka can be used as a floorless shelter or with the Absaroka 4P Insert with a bathtub floor/mesh insert for full double wall coverage (sold separately). A carbon fiber center pole can also be used to pitch the tent (sold separately).  And if you want to make a hot tent, pair with our Skyline Ti Titanium Wood Stove.

The Absaroka 4P needs to be seam sealed to be fully waterproof. We include seam sealer with every tent, and for more information on how to seam seal your tent, check out our seam sealing instruction page, or we can seam seal your tent for you for a small fee (select Add Seam Sealing).

Please allow an additional 5-7 business days for your order to ship if you elected to have us seam seal your tent.

  • Lightweight-2.1 lbs. (34 oz) shelter weight
  • ARC Removable Stove Jack System-Easily zip in or zip out your stove jack to run your tent in stove jack or lightweight mode to save weight and bulk.

  • Versatile Pitching-The modified rectangular shape and line-loc adjusters allow the tent to be pitched against the ground to keep out drafts, or elevated for better air flow.

The best Tipi I have used

I used the Absaroka recently guiding a sheep hunt in AK. I have been wanting to take one for years, but nervous about having it hold up. I decided to this year, as I knew we would have multiple people, and other tents if it failed. The tipi performed incredibly well, better than any tipi ive been in before, which is quite a few. It handled wind great, had no condensation when pitched slightly off the ground, had room for five guys to sit and play cards or eat when it was raining, and had room for two to sleep, and the rest of our packs, meat, and gear inside. Two of the best parts of the tents are the adjustable line locks for the pegs, and the zero stretch the fabric has. With other tipis you are constantly moving the stakes or raising the poles, but the Absaroka stayed taut throughout our trip. I am definitely looking forward to more nights in it as the season progresses. Thanks for the great products!

Great tent!

This is my first premium compact tent, Ive only owned bulky Coleman tents prior. Needless to say I am beyond happy with the purchase. I am very critical of the gear I purchase & hard to impress but this tent exceeded expectations. I will say it is much larger footprint than I expected. Looking back I would have went with the Rincon but I had no time to exchange this as It came just in time for my camping trip. 2 things I would really like to see: 1) a dynema half floor to provide max protection for blow up sleep pads. The half floor I got does feel thin and im worried about popping my mat. 2) the little stick thing at the top to prop open the air vent should be removable with velcro on both sides in a potential v2 of this tent. Its just sort of an awkward lump when rolling up the tent. Could probably roll it up more compact then it already is without that! Argali gained a loyal customer here!

Hey Isaiah,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review of our Absaroka 4P tent. It does have a large foot print, therefor gaining you more space than the average 4P shelter but a fraction of the weight. I hope you have a lot more adventures in store for the tent.

Does the Trick

This is a good tent for two that checks all the boxes. I'll offer some criticism that would improve the tent.
- Zipper flap fabric is too soft and jams in zipper very often, especially when wet. Too much of that and the zippers will crater.
-Vent flap/cover overhang could be slightly longer, a half inch might do it. Venting is pyramid tents is mostly for show in my opinion, but can't not have it. In gnarly weather the vent as it is will allow rain to blow in.
-The fabric is great. The fact that it doesn't sag is really nice. There does seem to be a down side. Read on. All single wall tents get condensation, especially when its wet, sometimes a lot! All good. What's different with this tent is that because it is tight and taut, rain or snow falling on the outside can transfer enough energy through the fabric to dislodge the condensation, which falls onto the occupants. Never seen this before with a pyramid tent and have used plenty. Its enough that stuff gets pretty wet in certain conditions and you can feel it on your face. The fabric is not leaking, to be clear, but something about this fabric makes it so condensation can be launched into space by rain or snow on the outside at times. Not a deal breaker, but good to be aware of.

Great tent otherwise!

Little Cabin in the woods !

Great tent ! did everything I asked of it. Only draw back for me and my personal comfort would be a better floor design options and or a full nest with the ability to use a stove option ! Outside of that it's the only tent I use now.
