Rincon 2P Tent

Regular price $259.00 $0.00 Unit price per

The Rincon 2P is the ideal lightweight 2 person mountain tent, with a single trekking pole pitch, spacious interior, removable stove jack, no-sag when wet fabric, single zipper door, and modified rectangular shape for optimal pitching in uneven terrain.  The Rincon is built for 4 season use and features sewn-in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching. Designed to be a spacious 2 person tent for riding out storms or 1 person palace with a stove, the Rincon strikes a balance between space, weight and size ideal for mountain hunting.

With a modified rectangular shape, the Rincon sets up easily and quickly and there is no guess-work to get the pitch right every time. The shape is also optimized for an efficient space to weight ratio, easily fitting two large people and all of your gear. The Rincon 2P is made from our lightweight yet strong ripstop polyester fabric that won't sag when wet, maintaining the usable space inside the tent in wet weather.

The Rincon also features sewn in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching adjustments. Pitch it low to the ground for full weather protection and to block drafts, or higher to allow for more air flow. The Rincon is also sewn with a silicone coated thread and double lap-felled seams, making it highly water resistant out of the box.

The Rincon 2P also comes with our ARC Removable Stove Jack System, designed to be run in lightweight mode or stove mode when you want a hot tent. With our zippered stove jack design, the removable stove jack allows you to keep tent weight and bulk to a minimum during warmer months if you aren't using a stove, while allowing stove use during the colder months, all with a single tent. Gone are the days of having to pack around a dedicated stove jack when you aren't using it.

The Rincon 2P is ideal for two people and normal amounts of gear, or 1 person with a stove and lots of gear. The Rincon can be used as a floorless shelter or with the Rincon 2P Insert with a bathtub floor/mesh body for full double wall coverage (sold separately). A carbon fiber center pole can also be used to pitch the tent (sold separately).

Please allow an additional 5-7 business days for your order to ship if you elected to have us seam seal your tent.

The Rincon 2P needs to be seam sealed to be fully waterproof. You can do it yourself with the seam sealer included with your purchase, or we can do it for you for an extra charge. For more information on seam sealing, check out our seam sealing instruction page.

It’s pretty great!

So this is my first real ultralight hot tent and it’s pretty great. There are things I love about it and things I don’t but I guess that’s what they call a trade off. I really wish it would’ve come with guy lines. I realize that a lot of people might get not ise them if you are trying to be ultralight, and sure it’s probably not that hard to put them on but for a premium price it would be great to have. I was camping in this tent on a SUPER windy night on the bighorn in Montana and the midway stake on the windward side got pulled out. So I improvised a guy line and made a stake out of a tree branch and that solved the problem. The wind howled all night and at times I thought I would blow away but the tent held up well. It has JUST enough room to keep your head and feet from touching the walls. If you pitch it at max height and let the sides lift off the ground a bit for ventilation I had a enough room to sleep on a low profile ultralight cot with a 3” sleeping pad on top, (with no insert) but then on a cold night with the sides all the way to the ground my head and feet would touch the tent if I wasn’t in the exact center. I’m a 5’9” woman so I’m not tiny but also not huge. This issue becomes more pronounced if you use the insert as you lose probably about 2-3” on all sides. I have the half insert. Also because the door is only on one side you need to sleep with your feet towards the door, otherwise sitting up and getting out of the tent without hitting the center pole with your feet is a challenge. The tent is SUPER light, and seems to be of great construction, it pitches very easy and fast especially if you have experience with a teepee tent. It has tons of room for one person and a lot of gear. I think two people would be fairly hard to navigate. I think if you want this tent to be as comfortable as possible then run it without the insert of you can, but obviously if you are dealing with bugs you might need the insert. There’s also a lot of loops on the inside of the tent that you can use to hang stuff like a lantern, thermacell, or head lamp which I wasn’t expecting. Seam sealing was kind of annoying and I ran out of sealant with just a small amount of the door zipper left to seal so if you don’t need to pitch Pennie’s I’d recommend letting them do it. The carbon fiber center pole is SUPER light weight, though it’s not fully telescoping so you can either leave the pieces attached and it’s probably about 3’ long when in its shortest configuration or you can break it down into three 20” pieces. The rope of the tent and insert is VERY well reinforced so if you want to use a trekking pole or tarp pole you don’t need to worry about the pointy end ripping the fabric. So like I said there’s a lot of trade offs but in terms of an ultralight super well made shelter I’d say it’s hard to beat and I’m glad I have it.

Great tent

The tent is great. Spent a week in Alaska where I experienced a wet heavy August snow. The tent worked great. My first night in the tent ended up with a lot of condensation but once I got better at pitching the tent it did better. Still had condensation but nothing that would make me not want to use the tent. The tent had room for me to yardage my gear and lay with room. Look forward to getting a stove to spend some colder nights on the mountain.

One tough tent!

I bought by Rincon2P two years ago. Now I am not the usual customer of Argali, I am not a hunter, at least yet. I chose the Rincon 2P for a light an compact tent that can fit in my motorcycles side cases.

This summer I learned how strong the tent really is. I was camping at Airventure, a big event in Oshkosh, WI and early one morning at 02:30 I was woken to the tent collapsed on top of me, there were no storms that night to blow it over, what happened? Come to find out, a large 250 plus pound drunk man had fallen on to the tent snapping the Argali carbon fiber pole that was holding the center of the tent up. Fortunately nobody was injured from it just my confusion as to why the pole was several inches shorter then it was when I laid down to sleep.

Looking at the aftermath in the morning light the tent itself was fine, not a single tear anywhere except the one I made when my pocket knife handle caught on the open entrance setting the tent up.

As you can see the carbon fiber pole did not fair as well as the tent. I know Argali makes a tough tent for backcountry use, but I didn't realize they are made to withstand having a large man fall on to them!

First tent from Argali

I have been using standard tents for years...I just like a floor in mine, but in the off chance I only need cover and need to go floorless or add a stove the Ricon 2p fit the bill. Also, I trust the gear to hold up for years to come. This tent checks so many boxes, adaptable and well made. We seam sealed ourselves and I love they allow us to do this.

Love it!

This shelter is the best! 66 square feet so easy to find a place to set up, multiple setup options with inserts and stove jack, and for the price with the versatility it just can’t be beat! So far I have a couple nights in it just in the back yard but preparing for archery elk, with it, but this tent will be my all season tent. Hot to cold, it can do it all.

Hey Dakota, thank you for taking the time to leave a review of the Rincon 2P Tent. It is definitely the most versatile tent in our lineup. Good luck in the elk woods and the rest of the season.
