Rincon 2P Tent

Regular price $259.00 $0.00 Unit price per

If you choose to have your tent seam sealed by us, please allow 3-5 business days for it to ship.

The Rincon 2P is the ideal lightweight 2 person mountain tent, with a single trekking pole pitch, spacious interior, removable stove jack, no-sag when wet fabric, single zipper door, and modified rectangular shape for optimal pitching in uneven terrain.  The Rincon is built for 4 season use and features sewn-in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching. Designed to be a spacious 2 person tent for riding out storms or 1 person palace with a stove, the Rincon strikes a balance between space, weight and size ideal for mountain hunting.

With a modified rectangular shape, the Rincon sets up easily and quickly and there is no guess-work to get the pitch right every time. The shape is also optimized for an efficient space to weight ratio, easily fitting two large people and all of your gear. The Rincon 2P is made from our lightweight yet strong ripstop polyester fabric that won't sag when wet, maintaining the usable space inside the tent in wet weather.

The Rincon also features sewn in line-loc adjusters on all guy-out points for quick and easy pitching adjustments. Pitch it low to the ground for full weather protection and to block drafts, or higher to allow for more air flow. The Rincon is also sewn with a silicone coated thread and double lap-felled seams, making it highly water resistant out of the box.

The Rincon 2P also comes with our ARC Removable Stove Jack System, designed to be run in lightweight mode or stove mode when you want a hot tent. With our zippered stove jack design, the removable stove jack allows you to keep tent weight and bulk to a minimum during warmer months if you aren't using a stove, while allowing stove use during the colder months, all with a single tent. Gone are the days of having to pack around a dedicated stove jack when you aren't using it.

The Rincon 2P is ideal for two people and normal amounts of gear, or 1 person with a stove and lots of gear. The Rincon can be used as a floorless shelter or with the Rincon 2P Insert with a bathtub floor/mesh body for full double wall coverage (sold separately). A carbon fiber center pole can also be used to pitch the tent (sold separately).

The Rincon 2P needs to be seam sealed to be fully waterproof. You can do it yourself with the seam sealer included with your purchase, or we can do it for you for an extra charge. For more information on seam sealing, check out our seam sealing instruction page.

Pimpin’ Tipi

This is the first tipi tent that I purchased and I am completely satisfied with the transition. I love how easy it is to set up and adjustable the height is to aid in airflow to mitigate condensation. I’ve spent 30ish nights through a variety of weather. Has performed exceptionally well in wind and rain. The footprint can be hard to deal with in certain areas, but that is to be expected with a tipi.

Only time I had to call it quits was last October when rain transitioned to freezing rain and finally to snow. The condensation on the interior and moisture on the exterior combined with hunting on the move didn’t allow the tent to dry. I was never worried while sleeping. Wind gusts hit 50 throughout the night. I stayed relatively dry and it stood strong.

I was so stoked, that I grabbed the Selway with a stove to use with the family on select backpacking trips. Based on the performance of the SilPoly, I can’t justify the Dyneema for the weight difference.

No bugs no rain

I purchased the rincon with full nest and the first real world use included copious amounts of may flies then rain storms. None of which made it into the tent. Paid for the seem sealing service and it was totally worth it.

Rincon performance in South America

This is a fantastic tent. I have spent 6 months travelling around South America with it and it packs smaller and is lighter than every other tent I've seen people have here. In the tropical regions, the half insert was perfect for keeping gear dry during the rain storms and in Patagonia especially it is incredibly windy, cold and wet. I was pitched next to an MSR elixir 2 and that got absolutely shredded by the wind while my Rincon stayed sturdy and taught. Another thing to mention is that the sil-poly sheds the water brilliantly while others were constantly tensioning their tents and they had just soaked up the rain like a sponge.

When I return to New Zealand I have a Wapiti hunt planned in Fiordland as we got a ballot block. Fiordland has some of the wildest and wettest weather in the world and I'm looking forward to getting to stay warm and dry in a tent I can trust.

Unfortunately I don’t have any cool views in my photos of the tent but the point is it did its job every time.

Nathan I am not sure what I am more jealous of more the trip through South America or the Wapiti hunt in New Zealand. Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed review. Hope you are able to find some success in NZ!

Spacious one man hot tent

I have several other trekking pole tents that are used for dedicated winter hot tent camping. This tarp tent is very versatile and compact, and weather worthy. I properly seam sealed it and have had it in snow, sleet and freezing rain. Im using a Kni-co Trekker stove with it, fits well with the decent stove jack. No issues, and no sagging of the tent, even with heavy rain. Quick and simple to set up and adequate condensation control. I'm pleasantly surprised to have an extra foot at each end of tent too, using a long wide mat. I had some questions about the tent, and was able to talk to someone in person quite quickly. Very good customer service so far. Happy customer.

Hey Dan,
Thank you for your review. I always tell folks that the Rincon is like a one man castle, at least in tent terms. With a stove, that tent will be very warm. Hope you are able to put the tent to use a lot this year. -Marshal
