Large Game M.O.B. Pack

Just received it today, after it had traveled from the USA to France and then to New-Caledonia where I reside. Unfortunately I've cut the outter bag and three of the internal ones in my haste to open the package :( I'm stupid I know. Nothing to worry much about since it will be fixed with some sewing, but next time I won't use my best knife to open it... As we say here, it seems I'm not the sharpest knife myself !
Anyway the pack is light, and I expect to test it soon.

Best bags

The bags wprked percect in keeping my elk clean and free of any bugs or debris and allowed the meat to cool down quickly. I purchased the MOB kit and purchased a few more bags and they all fit in the MOB bag so i have a bag for every piece of meat. Bags cleaned up well and they were ready for my next hunt.

No flies and worked great!

I ordered these too late for my moose harvest so I used the two regular knit kinds from the outdoor stores for the moose. I used the Argali bags for the two antelope I was gifted. Neither kind of bags let the flies lay eggs, both kinds of bags washed up nicely to re-use again. The strings on the argali bags were strong enough to hang on hooks; with the knit sock bags I had to leave the hind hock opening out to hang from and I cut the forearm muscle and ran a string in it to hang from. So the strings are an advantage on the Argali bags, especially in hanging bags of meat like backstraps. Both kinds of bags leaked fluid so I used doggy pads from Costco to lay the bags of chilled meat on top of a sleeping bag, and then put two thick sleeping bags on top during the day. At night I would hang the meat up again to cool. We used a pulley to raise the meat up to the second floor of the barn since there is a little black bear in the neighborhood. The Argali strings were handy for this twice a day movement. I backpack hunt and like how small the Argali bags pack down to and how quickly they dry; I haven’t weighed them yet to compare that aspect but I would definitely take them vs a knit bag on any hunt. Not having to fiddle with cutting strings to hang meat from a pole or a tree branch when my hands are cold or it’s dark is a good advantage to me.
