Absaroka 4P Half Floor

I really like the way the half floor secures to the tent stakes and has the line lock adjusters so you can keep it stretched out and in place. One thing I didn’t like was when the floor is out it comes really close or even slightly outside the edge of the tent. When it’s raining this allows water to get on top of the floor and then run inside. There is really no need for the floor to get this close to the edge of the tent as that space is not usable near the edges of the tent. I had my wife take 8” out of the middle of the half floor and sew it back together reattaching the center line lock gusset. Now the half floor does not stick out or near the edge of the tent so water can’t get on top of it when it rains.

I used this tent set up for elk season in central Idaho on an elk hunting trip. Several times setting this up on a logging roads or clearings waiting for the morning to sneak up on a bull proved quick and efficient setup earning praise from several hunting partners in the ease of set up and security of structure during weather. The tent was a breeze to setup and take down and was lightweight to pack into the backcountry. Comfortable nights and light packs made this an essential part of heart for western adventures

I love this floor it really adds to the versatility of the tent making it so you can run a very minimalist set up if you like or pair it with your insert only thing i wish is argali made a full floor if you wanted to you can use this as a footprint for your insert as well from what ive found

Super nice and roomy, sealed nicely. Not using until hunt in November so we will see how it holds up in the Frank Church wilderness. Fingers crossed!!
