To connect the insert, connect the sliding paracord on the carabiners to their respective tent stakes used to pitch the tent. Place your trekking pole or Rincon 2P center pole inside of the insert top cone and line up the insert top cone with the top cone on the tent. Zip up the insert and then tighten the line-locs on the insert by walking around the outside of the tent and reaching underneath to make them snug.
