Generations

Generations

For Kurtis Brooks, hunting is about the places and the challenge, as much as it is about the animal he's hunting.

On a late-season Idaho rifle hunt, Kurtis returns to country he knows well in pursuit of a large bull elk. He knows how to hunt this place, but familiarity doesn't make the hunt easy. Cold days, long sits, and hard-earned opportunities test his patience and determination as he works toward a bull worth pursuing.

At the same time, hunting is changing for Kurtis. His children are growing up around the same traditions that have shaped his life, and he is beginning to think about what hunting looks like for the next generation. Yet there is still something special about heading into the mountains alone, relying on his own experience and embracing the solitude that first drew him to hunting.

Generations is a story about the pursuit, the places that become part of us, and the traditions we carry forward.
